The trees are becoming bare, and so are the roads. The twilight is gaining ground. The daylight still squeezes in, but with increasing effort.
Nature dozes off, the world turns inwards, and the only thing you hear is the slow, cracking sound of frost.
And then, suddenly: a different sound. A soft hum.
It’s the tires of the winter cyclist.
For the winter cyclist, any type of weather is cycling weather.
Every season is part of the cycling year. No breaks, no pauses forced by a calendar. The winter cyclist might only stop for a cup of tea. However, it’s the cold that truly warms his heart.
First, the toes make themselves felt. Shortly thereafter, the nose and fingers join in with the tingling. But the winter cyclist rides. Lacks nothing to stand the test.
The winter cyclist doesn’t dream about tomorrow, as he is too busy with the joys of today.
The winter cyclist wakes up and, without opening the curtains, he knows it’s cycling weather again.

For many cyclists, winter is not an invitation to go cycling. They do not see winter as a cycling season and therefore opt for hibernation…
