Switzerland Jungfrau Region

In this Explore edition, we focus on the Jungfrau region, one of the most beautiful areas in Switzerland. It's no coincidence that we've chosen this place to photograph our new winter collection. The highlights of this region include Meiringen, Brienz, the Susten Pass, Grindelwald, and the Grimsel Pass. And if you're in the vicinity, you really shouldn't miss the famous Furka Pass, even though this challenging mountain pass is not officially part of the Jungfrau region.

From Meiringen to Susten Pass - Distance: 33.5km - Ascent: 1840m - Descent: 200m

Susten Pass - Susten Pass can be described in one word: idyllic. The long winding road gradually takes you higher and higher towards the mountain peak. Along the way, you'll be enchanted by beautiful vistas, waterfalls, rocks – you name it. A dream ride for every cyclist. You even ride under a waterfall! The diverse route is well-suited for novice cyclists. The winding road takes you up gradually, and only the last section is a bit steeper.

From Meiringen to Grimsel Pass - Distance: 38.2km - Ascent: 1720m - Descent: 550m

Grimselpas - Looking for a bit more physical challenge? Then Grimsel Pass is the place to be. This is one of those mountains you must conquer at least once. Razor-sharp bends and a steep incline. But what a view! Once at the top, you'll gaze out over a beautiful reservoir. By the lake, there's a characteristic hotel that's perfect for a photo stop. One significant drawback of this route is the crowds. We're not the only ones enthusiastic about this pass. Mainly, vintage car enthusiasts and motorcyclists make their way to the top. What's notable, however, is that people generally exercise caution, making Grimsel Pass still popular among cyclists. For those who've had enough of the hustle and bustle and want to savor the photogenic view in peace, we have the ultimate tip. From the top, heading towards Oberaarsee, there's a beautiful and quiet side road that's not accessible to cars. This is the icing on the cake, the reward for the challenging climb. This road offers stunning views of the reservoir, away from all the congestion.

Grosse Scheidegg - For those truly seeking tranquility, the Grosse Scheidegg in Grindelwald is a must-ride. This pass is not accessible to cars. Enormous rock formations alternate with flowers and bees. From snow-capped mountain peaks to green forests, this route offers it all. Occasionally, a yellow bus passes by with tourists, but otherwise, you'll only encounter the occasional hiker. An ideal route for those who want to explore Switzerland on a bike in complete serenity.

From Meiringen to Grosse Scheidegg - Distance: 17.7km - Ascent: 1390m - Descent: 30m

BRIENZERSEE_2

Brienzersee - Brienz is a charming town to visit when you need a break from the mountainous surroundings. Despite being surrounded by high peaks, the town itself is relatively flat in the valley. At its heart lies Lake Brienz, with its turquoise waters, making it perfect for a beautiful 40 km bike ride around its shores. You can even end your ride with a refreshing swim. Brienz offers plenty of delightful restaurants for a meal afterward.

Brienzersee loop - Distance: 40km - Ascent: 500m - Descent: 500m

Furkapas - Finally, we want to mention the Furka Pass. This mountain pass is not officially part of the Jungfrau region, but it's too beautiful to pass up. What makes this pass so unique is the ghostly Belvedere Hotel situated in a stunning bend. The abandoned hotel is incredibly photogenic and exudes an impressive aura. Additionally, this mountain pass features beautiful hairpin bends that lead to breathtaking views. It's no coincidence that the James Bond film "Goldfinger" was filmed here. This adds an extra layer of specialness to the Furka Pass, making it a climb you shouldn't miss.
